Seal 6 Part 2 (Rev. 7:1-8)

Rev 7:1
And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.











Four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth
Angel - A messenger, A person carrying forth a message from God, A servant (a disciple, pastor, elder, prophet, etc.) and/or a thing or event carrying forth a message from God.
Four corners of the Earth - This is the earth as a whole, North, South, East, and West.

Holding the Four Winds - The four winds means that every inch of ground is covered, whether in heaven or in the earth.
Everywhere the four winds are talked about they are covering the whole earth. The four winds do have a starting point, which is in heaven. Jer 49:36, Ezek 37:9, Dan 7:2, Dan 8:8, Dan 11:4, Zech 2:6, Matt 24:31, Mark 13:27
 
Winds = Spirit, Breath of Life, and/or Strife, Commotion.

The wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.
Blow - To breathe hard, Breeze.
Earth - The earth is used in the whole world. Earthly, Worldly and Fleshly.
Earth is opposed to what is Heavenly, Spiritual and Holy.
Sea - Nations, (if applied to something in heaven) Endless or Limitless.
Tree - Describe men, people.
I saw four angels - They have their dealings with the first four trumpets, Standing on the four corners of the earth - East, west, south, north.
The 1st. four trumpets bring hurt upon the earth, sea, and trees. These powerful four angels are holding back the four winds that bring this same damage that is being talked about here in: Revelation 8:7-12

Rev 7:2

And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea,

Another Angel -

Again no individual angel is particularized, though an archangel and/or maybe Jesus Himself may be intended, as He has authority over the four.

Ascending from the east -

It may be that as light begins in the east, this would be properly symbolic of something that could be compared with the light of the morning. From the rising of the sun. He proceeds from that quarter where comes the light for the earth (The Sun or The Son).

Ezekiel 43:2 And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel came from the way of the east: and his voice was like a noise of many waters: and the earth shined with his glory.

The seal of the living God -

Seal = Sign or mark of approval or disapproval.   

We can have no doubt that the Holy Spirit of God is meant.

2 Corinthians 1:21-22, Ephesians 4:30, Deuteronomy 6:6-8, Hebrews 8:10

Deuteronomy 11:18

Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes.

The work that He does in and upon His people is the sure sign and seal that they are His. "The Holy Spirit is God's seal". Where He is there is safety. Where He is God sees His mark. His own possession, one who belongs to Him, one over whom He watches, one whom He will keep in that hour of temptation which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

Genesis 4:15 Is the first place where we see God place a mark and/or a seal upon anyone for protection.

Exodus 12:21-23 God has all of Israel to place a mark upon the door post for protection of the death angel.

“His name shall be in their foreheads” (Rev. 22:4).

He cried with a loud voice to the four angels

Cried - To croak, To Scream, To call aloud

Loud - Exceedingly great

Voice - Tone, An address, saying or language.

Angel - A messenger, A person carrying forth a message from God, A servant (a disciple, pastor, elder, prophet, etc.) and/or a thing or event carrying forth a message from God

To whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea
To whom it was given - This is past tense (was given) So these four angels were all ready to carry out their mission to cause hurt upon the earth and sea. To hurt the earth and the sea - Only earth and sea are mention, maybe because trees and earth are from the same group.

Only 1 angel ascends from the east and He shows His power and authority over them. This angel must come from the Throne maybe Jesus. He expresses His great concern for His people, His care of them, and affection for them; and to signify the danger they were in through the calamities that were coming on, should they not be sealed:

Rev 7:3

Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.

An archangel and/or maybe Jesus Himself is the Angel that seals His people. He has divine power and authority from His Father over angels and every other creature.

He has all fullness of the Spirit dwelling in him. He knows who are His, and can distinguish, preserve, and appropriate them to Himself as His peculiar people and enable them boldly to profess His truths, these are the ones that are represented as Hebrew tribes.

The holding in of the winds for time denotes the restraint of other errors of time which afterward plagued the church. and the restraint of the fearful judgments that troubled and ruined the Roman empire which became the Roman Catholic Church; until many souls were gathered to Jesus, and established in the faith by the Holy Ghost.

Till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.

Ezekiel 9

Six men came from the way of the higher gate, to purge the iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah. Anyone without the mark upon their forehead was to be slain.

Revelation 13:16

This verse and 7 others in the book of Revelation talk about the mark of the beast upon your right hand and/or your forehead.

Revelation 13:17; 14:9; 14:11; 15:2; 16:2; 19:20; 20:4.

All of these verses are saying is that you will be a mark for destruction. You will be marked as the property of the worldly system, (devil's system).
Everyone will receive a mark one for our Lord or one for destruction the worldly system. We have to choose what side you will be on. Choose Life or Choose death.
Deuteronomy 30:19 
I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

This period during the 6th. seal could very well be the time when the Roman empire was going from a political to a religious system.

This is when the extreme persecution takes place for the true Church of God. This will continue throughout the time in history until the end.

Rev 7:4-8

And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.

Twelve is used as the number of those who in every age have been called out to witness for some truth which the world needs. Thus the twelve tribes of Israel were the appointed witnesses of a pure theology and a pure morality in the days of idolatry.

The number twelve, then, stands for a world-witness of divine truth; and the fruits of this world-witness is a wide and sustained success: the twelve multiplied by the twelve a thousand-fold.

The one hundred and forty-four thousand represent the growth into full numbers of the choice ones of God.

Rev 14:1-5, Genesis 15:5, Isaiah 4:2-3

Dan and Ephraim are not mentioned, because they had been ringleaders in idolatry,

Judges 17, Judges 18, 1 Kings 12:28-33, Hosea 4:17

There were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand

This is a square number arising from twelve, the square root of it, being just twelve times twelve thousand; and may denote they're being the true and genuine offspring of the twelve apostles of the Lamb, holding their doctrine, and being built on their foundation;

see Revelation 21:14

Exodus 28:36-38. Here the seal bore the Father's name.

Revelation 14:1, John 6:27, Ephesians 1:13, 4:30 

Ezekiel 9:4

Go set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the churches.

Of all the tribes of the children of Israel

Not that these were all Jews in a literal sense, for the time of their conversion in great numbers is not yet come.

Whereas they take in all the saints within this long track of time, even all that are the true Israel of God, who are Jews inwardly,

All nations, kindred, tongue, and people what so ever; and it is a certain seal that will be set in motion for the Kingdom of our Lord to be established for the advancement of the seed of His Glory to carry throughout the history of this age.

Romans 2:29

In Christ “there is neither Jew nor Greek” (Gal. 3:28).

It is a heavenly Jerusalem (Heb. 12:22)

The sealing of Gods people is throughout the Apocrypha and the Canon.

Enoch 47:1-4

47.1 And in those days, the prayer of
the righteous, and the blood of the
righteous will have ascended from the
Earth in front of the Lord of Spirits.
47.2 In these days the Holy Ones who
live in Heaven above will unite with one
voice, and supplicate, and pray, and
praise, and give thanks, and bless, in the
name of the Lord of Spirits. Because of
the blood of the righteous that have been
poured out. And because of the prayer
of the righteous, so that it may not cease
in front of the Lord of Spirits, so that
justice might be done to them, and that
their patience may not have to last
forever."
47.3 And in those days, I saw the Head
of Days sit down on the Throne of his
Glory and the Books of the Living were
opened in front of him and all His Host,
which dwell in the Heavens above, and
his Council were standing in front of
Him.
47.4 And the hearts of the Holy Ones
were full of joy that the number of
righteousness had been reached, and the
prayer of the righteous had been heard,
and the blood of the righteous had not
been required in front of the Lord of
Spirits.
