Rev 6:12
And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;

Great Earthquake -
1. shaking and vibration at the surface of the earth resulting from underground movement.
2. a disturbance that is extremely disruptive.
" All phenomena of this kind were anciently regarded with great terror, as being the evidence that God was angry, and was about to punish."

Sun became black as sackcloth of hair
Sun = Light, The sun to rule over the day.
Black = Darkness
Sackcloth of hair = Garments worn as a sign of grief. with hair means it has lost its sharpness.
The change that is taking place is causing grief for those that walk in the light.
Thus making their walk in the Spirit disrupted. (Hairy)

The moon became as blood
Moon = Many of the Jewish festivals were on the new moon. (The moon is a timekeeper)
The moon to rule over the night.
The time for the ruler over the darkness became hungry for blood.
A metaphorical sense of these expressions, very usual in the prophetical writings, to show great changes in states, and in this sense, it is to be taken here. Thus the prophet describes the great change God would make in Jerusalem.
God will use these types of phrases to hopefully to get our attention to honor his covenant.
Isa 29:6, Jer 15:9, Eze 32:7, Joel 2:10

Rev 6:13
And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.

This verse is prophesied in Isaiah 34:4, Matthew 24:29

Stars of heaven fell unto the earth
Stars -
From the very start, God has called His elect as the stars of heaven. Genesis 1:16, 15:5, 22:17, 26:4, Genesis 37:9

Heaven -
According to the Jewish notion, there are three heavens.
(a) The Firmament, as "Fowls of The Heaven" Gen. 2:19; 7:3,23; Psalms 8:8, "The Eagles of Heaven" Lam. 4:19.
(b) The Starry Heavens Deut. 17:3; Jer. 8:2; Matt. 24:29.
(c) "The Heaven of Heavens," or "The Third Heaven" "God's Home" Deut. 10:14; 1 Kings 8:27; Ps. 115:16; 148:4; 2 Cor. 12:2.

Earth -
1. soil.
2. (by extension) a region, or the solid part or the whole of the earthly globe, including the
occupants. From the dust of the ground, we were created.
The earth is used of the whole world. Earthly, Worldly and Fleshly.
Earth is opposed to what is Heavenly, Spiritual and Holy.

Great men (Stars) of God's Kingdom (Heaven) have come into opposition (fell) in the
flesh (Earth).
This means that Gods leaders are being persecuted by the Catholic Worldly System.

Fig tree casteth her untimely figs -
Fig tree - Fig Trees have dual meanings within the Word of God. They are a symbol of, the nation of Israel (Judah) Jeremiah 24. A symbol of King's and/or leaders, Judges 9:7-15.
Here as the Spiritual, the fruit of Gods Word within our Church Leaders, God's Elect. (Within Our Early Church Fathers)

Cast her untimely figs - means the elect that was fruitful in their life have been cast down. (Death).

The mighty wind that shook-ed the elect were laws passed by the Catholic Church, (A False Prophet) to put to death anyone who owned a Bible or worshiped Jesus outside of the Catholic organization.

Rev 6:14
And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

Scroll - The form of an ancient book.

Every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

Mountain - As lifting itself above the plain.
A symbol of unmovable power that overlooks
everything.

Island - A tract of land surrounded by water.
The symbol of an island, it is protected on all
sides with water and that everything within
the island would go on as unchanged.
protected from the outside world.

After the earthquake shook everything out of place in the world, removed all the stars out of the way. All known political and/or religious power (Mountains) was moved out of the way. All hidden tribes and/or groups of people (Islands) were exposed.

This gave the devil and his false prophets as a way for his new system of religion. This brought on an attack against Gods Word, that has been going on ever since the garden of Eden when he told Eve that she would not die. They tried to take the way of salvation from the world.

Rev 6:15
And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;

This-Worldly, Political and Anti-Christian movement Thur the Catholic Church has taken over the world views. They are 7 classes of people that this judgment will hold responsible for this change.

None will escape Gods Judgment.

The kings of the earth - The great men - The rich men -The chief captains - The mighty men - Every bondman - Every free man
The kings are subject to this change and help enforce this corruption of Gods Word. We have reached the beginning of the end of the age. For the rest of the 7 do follow suit for the fear of this new power.

There is a process of punishment that God goes through and it has 7 steps.
Lev. 26:18

Hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains -
Isa 2:19 And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the Lord, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth.
Again, as in verses. Rev 6:12-14  the enumeration is sevenfold; thus denoting the universality and completeness of the extent of the judgment. (see Rev 1:4 Rev 5:1,)
Read the Old Testament prophesy in connection with the 6th. seal.
(Isaiah 24, Isaiah 34:2-4)
All the seals that have been open and will continue throughout the history of the true Church of God, until our Lords return. These judgments will fall upon all who reject the Word of God.

Rev 6:16
And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:

Mountains and rocks - Political and religious power,

Jesus told Peter that upon this Rock I will build my Church Matthew 16:18.
But here it is being used as a symbol of the worlds false religious power.

Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne - The world is looking for a covering from the sin that they are doing. Does this change them? Very few, some even think that they are doing God a service in killing you and trying to stop the true Church. John 16:2; Luke 23:27-31

The wrath of the Lamb - The lamb is the emblem of innocence. Whoever saw a lamb in a rage? The lamb is essentially meek, tender, yielding. Of all creatures, this is the last creature that could be excited to wrath. As a rule, whatever is strange is more or less alarming.

The wrath of a tender, loving, meek-minded man is a far more terrible thing than the wrath of a hot-headed nature man. The more difficulty you have in exciting wrath the more terrible it is when it appears.

The world is commenting great sins against Gods true Church, that turn the lamb from mercy to wrath.

Rev 6:17
For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?
Who shall be able to stand -

For this judgment that is upon us, is the effect of his wrath for our abusing and persecuting his members; and we, with all our courage, might, and power, are not able to abide his wrath. These words import, that in this great change, as the greatest persons should be at a loss what to do, so they should perish under a conviction that the great vengeance of God was come upon them for their opposing the gospel, and provoking Christ by persecuting of his members.

1Thess 5:9
For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ.
