Seal 5 (Rev. 6:9-11)

Rev 6:9
And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:
Rev 6:10
And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?
Rev 6:11
And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellow servants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.

Rev 6:9
And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:

The Fifth Seal:
The vision changes from what is happening on earth, to what is happening in heaven.
From: Judgment to Rewards.

I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the Word of God:
These souls are under the altar emphasizes that their lifeblood was poured out as an offering to God.
This is from: Exodus 29:10-13, Lev 4:18, Lev. 8:15
Lev 4:7 And he shall pour the remaining blood at the base of the altar of the burnt offering.
Just like at the base of the Cross of Jesus His Blood was poured out at the bottom when He was pierced with the Roman sword. (Water n Blood)

Lev 17:11
For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.

Altar:
The brazen altar, Exodus 39:39; 1Kings 8:64, All sacrifices to be offered on Exodus 29:38-42; Isa 56:7 These are an earthly pattern of the Heavenly.

Souls: That vital, immaterial, active substance, or principles in man whereby he remembers, reasons and wills.
John saw them in a visionary way, as he saw angels: their bodies were dead, but their souls were alive; which shows the immortality of the soul, that lives in a separate state.
For More on Your Soul: Chart on Body, Soul, and Spirit
Ephesians 4:7-10, Hebrews 2:14-15, Matthew 12:40, 1 Peter 4:6, Psalms 16:10,
These are all the souls that Jesus brought from Abraham bosom. They had to wait a little while after going to heaven, for Jesus to apply His Blood to the Ark of the Covenant. Then take His place on the Throne, where He received the 7 Seal Scroll.

Slain: to butcher, to slaughter, to maim, for the word of God
Persecution for all who have stood on the Word of God has been going on since Cain and Abel. Anyone who has the Word of God within them brings conviction to the world that they come in contact with. The Light that the Word of God has in a person will expose the darkness that people live in. The world just wants to turn the light off and live in there darkness.

The Testimony: evidence given
A solemn declaration or affirmation made for the purpose of establishing or proving some fact. Such affirmation in judicial proceedings may be verbal or written but must be under oath.
This is the record of our legal right to put the claim that we belong in the Kingdom of God. This is signed in the Blood of the Son of God - Jesus. When the Judgment of the world begins, we have the legal right to claim ownership in the family of the creator. The Judge will see us as NOT GUILTY in breaking the laws of the universe.
Jesus is the lawyer and you better hire Him because He has the only legal book that will clear your name. The Lambs Book of Life.
Revelation 21:27
And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defile-th, neither whatsoever work-th abomination, or make-th a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.

Rev 6:10
And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?

They cried with a loud voice, saying, How Long, O Lord, Holy and True:
This group is the saints of the Old Testament. They have been in paradise waiting on Jesus arrival.
Throughout time we can hear the voice of our fallen brothers and sisters. It pulls at my heart, to think about all who have suffered for the Word of God. To have the world reject the creator's Love and Mercy. No Body can put a number of all the believers that have died. The Blood of our Brothers and Sisters still cry out to this day!!! Just as the blood of Abel cries out.
Gen 4:10 And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground.
These verses show our brothers and sisters crying out throughout time:
Ps 94:3, Ps 119:84, Dan 8:13, Luke 18:7, John 12:47, Rev 18:24, Rev 19:2
The saints are crying out for justice.

Rev 6:11
And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellow servants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.

White Robes:

A symbol of Purity. The white Robe of Righteousness, The Wedding Garment of Mat 22:11, Mat 22:12, is the sign of the blessedness of the saints.

2 Chr. 5:12; Ps. 51:7; Isa. 1:18; Rev. 3:18; 7:14; Dan 12:10; Matt 28:3; Rev 2:17; Rev 3:4; Rev 4:4; Rev 7:9; Rev 19:8

Rev. 7:14 We can see from this verse that New Testament believers have wash their robes during there life on earth. The believers we have here under the altar have not received there robes. That lets us know that they are from the Old Testament era.

They should rest yet for a little season:

Rest: to repose, to be exempt, to remain. to refresh.

Rest also signifies a fixed and secure habitation. The Promise Land

Little season: Delay in time, the church age.

Matt 24:22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elects sake those days shall be shortened.

Jesus says that the days be shorten. They have been waiting in Heaven for around 2,000 years. They were in Paradise, from the death of Abel to Jesus.

They are ready for the reclaiming of the earth.

Fellow servants also and their brethren:
John gives two groups of people.
Fellow servants: The Gentiles.
Brethren: The bloodline of Abraham.

that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled:
For the defense of the gospel; finished their testimony; or till the number of the martyrs should be completed, letting persecution go on a while until they should have filled up the measure of their iniquities.

God measure sin, He will let it go until it reaches a breaking point. Then He will bring judgment upon the sinners. The Old Testament is full of stories where sin reaches this breaking point, then God will destroy everything within that area.
Genesis 6:7 (Noah), Genesis 18:20 (Sodom and Gomorrah), Exodus 12:12 (Egypt). Just a few...

Should be fulfilled:
We are here in the last days (FULFILLED). Let us stay strong in the Word of our Lord. We all might not agree on everything, just like all brothers and sisters. We are of the same family, the Kingdom of God, let us grow together in the grace and love of our Lord and Savior JESUS...
GOD BLESS.
