Red Horse Rider (Rev. 6:3-4)

Rev 6:3 And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see.
Rev 6:4 And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.

Red Horse-
Red -
is the color of blood and a sign for war.
Horse -
is power.

Power to take peace-
* To take peace means there was some type of peace to take. Jesus is the only way for peace to truly be in a person. The red horse rider had the power to take it. This has to be persecution against true born again Christians. This all started shortly after the day of Pentecost.

Early Christians were persecuted for their faith at the hands of both Jews from whose religion Christianity arose from and the Roman Empire which controlled much of the land across which early Christianity was distributed.

* Persecution of the Christians in the Roman Empire begins with Nero (37–68). In 64 AD, a great fire broke out in Rome, destroying portions of the city and economically devastating the Roman population. Some people suspected Nero himself as the arsonist, but Nero fastened the guilt and inflicted the most blame on a class of people already hated called Christians.

* In the first two centuries of the Christian era, it was local Roman officials who were largely responsible for persecutions. In the second century, the Caesars were largely content to treat Christianity as a local problem and leave it to their subordinates to deal with. Until the reign of Emperor Decius (249-251) persecution was local and sporadic. For Roman governors being a Christian was in itself a subversive act, because it entailed a refusal to sacrifice to the gods of Rome, including the deified emperor.

* By the mid-2nd century AD, mobs could be found willing to throw stones at Christians, and they might be mobilized by rival sects. The Persecution in Lyon in which Christians were mass-slaughtered by being thrown to wild beasts under the decree of Roman officials for reportedly refusing to renounce their faith according to St. Irenaeus was preceded by mob violence, including assaults, robberies, and stoning.

Kill one another – Kill - "put to death, the offense of one,"
To kill one another – Has to mean that a brother against a brother. (Civil War)

Mark 13:12 Now the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son; and children shall rise up against their parents, and shall cause them to be put to death.
Civil wars were very much increasing after Pentecost.

Great Sword - A Sword in the New Testament means the Spoken Word of God. This goes along with the Catholic Church using a (Pope - False Word = Great Sword)persecuting the real Church.
* Remember God said that He will let people believe in a strong delusion.
2 Thes 2:11
This has to to be the Catholic Church, for they do bring a false peace and are an anti-Christ.

Matt 24:6  And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
Most teachers on the end times compare Matthew 24 to the 7 seals and trumpets, for we should because they line up. But as we can see here the end is not yet, for these are the things that we must endure until the end.

Stay strong in the LORD so we all can enjoy what Jesus has in store for us all.
